Dust off the west desert, cobwebs under every eave, and a green film creeping up the shady side of the house β Wasatch Front siding takes a beating. We wash it off with low pressure instead of a high-pressure blast, so your siding comes clean without water being driven behind it.
Low pressure, top to bottom
Why Soft Washing
A high-pressure wand makes a satisfying stripe, but siding was built to shed rain falling down it, not water fired sideways into it. Here is why we wash houses the gentle way.
Lap siding overlaps from the top down so rain runs off it. Spray it hard from below and water gets driven up under the laps and into the wall behind, where it can sit and cause problems you won't see for years. Low pressure cleans the face of the siding and lets the water run off the way it was designed to.
A tight, high-pressure stream can gouge stucco, open up hairline cracks, and chew at the mortar between bricks. A soft wash takes the dirt off the surface and leaves the surface itself alone.
Wind off the west desert and dust from new construction settle into every lap, ledge and window trim. On darker siding it shows as a dull, chalky haze. A proper wash brings the color back.
Spiders love soffits, porch ceilings, light fixtures and the corners by the front door. We wash those areas as part of the house, not as an afterthought, so the entry you walk through every day looks as clean as the walls.
Spring pollen and June cottonwood fluff stick to siding and trim, and shaded north-facing walls pick up a green or black film that keeps coming back. We wash it off the whole house, not just the side you can see from the street.
We're window cleaners first, so we do it in the right order: wash the siding, then clean the exterior glass. Runoff from the walls never lands on clean windows, and you get the whole outside of the house done in one visit.
Our Process
No shortcuts and no mess left behind β here is exactly what happens when we show up.
Before any water goes on the house, we walk every side with you or on our own. We check that windows and doors are closed, look for loose, cracked or peeling spots that shouldn't be washed, and note the plants and fixtures along the foundation. If something needs attention, you hear about it before we start.
We work each wall from the top down with low pressure, so dirt rinses down and off instead of being pushed into the laps and seams. Eaves, trim, porch ceilings and the entry get the same attention as the big flat walls, and we keep the beds along the foundation rinsed as we go.
A final rinse carries the loosened grime off the siding and away from the house. If you've booked window cleaning too, this is when the glass gets done, so it stays clean. We finish with a walk-around to make sure nothing was missed.
Our Work
Real jobs across the Wasatch Front: low-pressure washing on dark lap siding and stone.
Service Area
We are based in Salt Lake City and run north through Davis and Weber counties all week β so getting on the schedule is usually easier than people expect.
Good to Know
Most Wasatch Front homes look their best with a wash once a year, usually in late spring once the pollen and cottonwood fluff have settled. Homes next to open fields, new construction or busy roads, and walls that stay shaded and damp, tend to need it more often. We can look at your house and tell you honestly what makes sense.
Soft washing uses low pressure, so it is far gentler on siding than a high-pressure wand, which can force water behind lap siding and gouge or crack stucco. Before we start we walk the house, point out anything loose, cracked or peeling that should not be washed, and keep the plants and beds along the foundation rinsed while we work. If a spot looks too fragile to wash, we tell you before we start, not after.
Not necessarily. We need access to every side of the house and a working outdoor spigot. Leave gates unlocked, close your windows and doors, and let us know about pets, and we can take care of the rest while you are out.
Yes, and it is the best way to do it. We wash the siding first, then clean the exterior glass, so the runoff from the walls never lands on freshly cleaned windows. Mention both in your quote request and we will price them together.
Our focus is house siding. If there is something else you would like cleaned, mention it in your quote request and we will let you know.
